Bridgeline Software is a rapidly growing developer of award winning custom web (internet, intranet, extranet) applications and content management software with offices in Atlanta, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, Washington DC, and in India. We have an immediate opening for a User Experience Architect who will work out of our Boston office.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Requirements-gathering via user and stakeholder interviews; goal alignment and analysis: high-level or in-depth findings presented as Word or PowerPoint documents
  • Audience, functional and task analyses to determine and prioritize anticipated user paths and logical process/transaction flows
  • User interface design to provide appropriate user experience and interface functionality
  • Process analysis, optimization, and documentation: detailed process flows and lightweight functional requirements
  • Competitive analyses, industry overviews, and strategies, communicated via Word and/or PowerPoint presentations
  • Site or application architecture and navigation: Visio-based sitemaps and navigation flows.
  • Solution documentation: Visio-based page-level wireframes, including lightweight interactive wireframes for iterative prototype testing.
  • Usability testing and assessment for projects, as well as ad hoc usability evaluations of varying levels of complexity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • 5+ years experience interacting with clients as a consultant developing user experience architecture, interactivity and/or user interfaces for complex web solutions
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in user-centric design processes, techniques and tools
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design
  • Strong knowledge of usability principles, issues and techniques for website and application development
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to analyze stakeholder and user needs, and define strategies for meeting them
  • Ability to organize of large bodies of information into a logical, easy-to-use series of interfaces
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills; ability to provide sales support
  • Strong client-facing skills and experience in managing conflicts with clients
  • Proficiency in one or more tools, such as: Microsoft Visio, MindMapper, HTML, Macromedia Dreamweaver. Photoshop or Illustrator skills are a plus. Coding skills are not required, but an understanding of technical requirements and limitations is key.
